TLDR Botulinum toxin is not proven effective for treating hair loss.
Recent trends have seen the use of botulinum toxin (BT) for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA), although there is a lack of scientific rationale and sufficient medical evidence supporting its effectiveness. The suggested mechanisms by which intradermal and intramuscular BT might work include relieving tension in the scalp and relaxing blood vessels and the hair raising muscle (HRM).
