TLDR Biotin improved fur and skin conditions in most dogs.
In a study conducted in 1989, 119 dogs with fur and skin conditions were treated with biotin for 3 to 5 weeks. The treatment resulted in complete symptom resolution in 60% of cases and improvement in 31%, with only 9% showing no effect. The response varied by breed, with Poodles showing a lower response rate compared to Alsatians. The study confirmed the beneficial effects of biotin on canine fur and skin conditions.
