TLDR Finasteride complexes with HPβCD and polymers improve solubility, potentially enhancing hair loss treatment.
This study investigated the formation of inclusion complexes of finasteride with HPβCD and various polymers to improve the solubility and dissolution rate of the drug. The study found that true binary and ternary inclusion complexes were formed, and the ternary systems with chitosan or PVP K30 had higher solubility of FIN than the binary system. The study suggests that inclusion complexes of FIN in HPβCD and polymers may have potential applications in drug delivery systems and could potentially enhance the effectiveness of finasteride in treating hair loss.
