TLDR Beau's lines on fingernails might indicate past severe COVID-19 and risk of reinfection.
This document discusses a case study of a 65-year-old man who developed Beau's lines on all fingernails following severe immune responses during two hospitalizations for COVID-19. The patient experienced elevated interleukin-6 levels and required treatment with tocilizumab and dexamethasone. The study suggests that Beau's lines, although seemingly harmless, could serve as indicators of past severe COVID-19 infections and may signal a higher risk of reinfection and rehospitalization.
