TLDR Fetuin A levels are higher in PCOS patients, while asprosin levels show no difference.
This study evaluated the levels of asprosin and fetuin A in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and their association with various biochemical parameters. It involved 90 participants, with 60 women diagnosed with PCOS and 30 healthy controls. The findings revealed that fetuin A levels were significantly higher in PCOS patients compared to controls, suggesting its potential role in the metabolic profile of PCOS. In contrast, asprosin levels did not differ significantly between the groups, indicating it may not be useful for diagnosing PCOS. Additionally, significant differences in fasting blood sugar, insulin, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels were observed, highlighting metabolic disruptions in PCOS patients.
