A Natural Product Molecule of Artocarpus Heterophyllus Reverses Inflammation Due to Acute Exposure of Prostate Tissue to Testosterone Enanthate in Wistar Rats

This study investigated the effects of Aqueous Artocarpus heterophyllus seed extract (AAHS) on benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) induced by testosterone enanthate in 30 adult Wistar rats. The rats were divided into six groups, including a standard control, a negative control (BPH-induced), a positive control (treated with finasteride), and three treatment groups receiving AAHS at doses of 250 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, and 1000 mg/kg. The findings suggest that AAHS may offer a potential alternative treatment for BPH, as it demonstrated the ability to reverse inflammation in prostate tissue without the adverse effects associated with conventional treatments.
