TLDR The new hair-dyeing shampoo is safe, colors hair evenly, and strengthens it.
The study developed a biocompatible shampoo (S-DPC) integrating a dark polyphenol complex (DPC) for multicolor hair dyeing and reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging. The shampoo demonstrated effective hair coating, improved mechanical properties, and antistatic effects. It showed high ROS-scavenging efficiency (87-98%) and nearly 100% cell viability, indicating high biocompatibility. The findings suggest that S-DPC is a safe and effective alternative for hair dyeing, offering both aesthetic and protective benefits.
