TLDR Argan oil makes hair care products spread better and improves their texture.
The study from 2015 aimed to develop and assess the stability and texture profile of hair care formulations containing argan oil. Shampoos, conditioners, and leave-in products were created with varying concentrations of argan oil and tested for spreadability and texture over 28 days at temperatures of 25°C, 37°C, and 45°C. Results showed that all formulations were stable, with those containing argan oil having better spreadability, which is preferred by consumers. While conditioners with argan oil did not differ significantly in texture from those without, the leave-in product with argan oil had increased consistency. The study concluded that argan oil improves the texture profile of hair care products, making it a beneficial ingredient. The number of participants in the sensory evaluation was not mentioned.
