TLDR More severe hair loss worsens quality of life in men.
This study investigated the relationship between the type of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and quality of life (QoL) in 67 male patients. The patients were assessed using the Hamilton-Norwood scale for AGA type and the Hair-Specific Skindex-29 scale for QoL. The study found that AGA predominantly affected men aged 31-50, with type II being the most common. The results showed that AGA had a moderate to severe impact on QoL, with a significant positive correlation between the severity of AGA and the negative impact on QoL (p = 0.020, r = 0.282). The study concluded that as the type of AGA increases, the QoL of patients is more adversely affected.
