TLDR Most ingredients in anti-hair loss products lack scientific proof of effectiveness.
The study analyzed 92 anti-hair loss products, identifying 448 substances, of which 207 were declared as active ingredients by manufacturers. Common ingredients included glycerin, yarrow extract, and biotin. However, only 8 ingredients, such as zinc pyrithione and caffeine, had scientific confirmation of effectiveness. Some ingredients, like niacinamide, were found to be counterproductive. Notably, adenosine, which has proven effectiveness, was absent in all analyzed products. The study concluded that most ingredients advertised as active lacked scientific validation for their effectiveness against hair loss.
