Amaranthus Extract Promotes Healthy Follicles And Anagen Hair Density: A Randomized Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blinded Study

A study involving 50 males aged 25-45 with male pattern hair loss (MPHL) investigated the effects of an amaranthus extract cream on hair growth. Participants applied the cream or a placebo daily for 90 days. Results showed that the amaranthus cream significantly increased terminal hair density by 28% and anagen hair count by 54%, compared to 15% and 17.5% increases in the placebo group, respectively. The pilary index and anagen to telogen ratio also improved significantly with the cream. No adverse effects were reported, suggesting that amaranthus extract cream is a safe and effective supportive therapy for MPHL.
