TLDR Alpha-tocopherol does not prevent hair loss from doxorubicin.
A study conducted on 20 patients with various solid tumors evaluated the effectiveness of alpha-tocopherol acetate in preventing doxorubicin-induced alopecia. Despite receiving doxorubicin at doses of 50-60 mg/m2 per treatment cycle, 90% of the patients experienced severe hair loss, while 10% had moderate hair loss. The trial concluded that alpha-tocopherol showed no protective activity against hair loss in these patients.
