TLDR AI is revolutionizing healthcare by improving diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring, but still needs close supervision.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare by making medical practices more affordable, efficient, and faster, with applications in diagnosis, management, monitoring, and individualized care. AI aids in treating conditions like dementia, autism, and schizophrenia, and is used in diagnosing cancer, treating skin lesions, predicting metastasis, staging lung nodules, identifying COVID-19, and classifying thyroid tissue. AI's capabilities extend to various imaging techniques, and it is expected to coexist with human intelligence in medicine, leveraging data from modern smart devices for disease prevention and health monitoring. While AI performs on par with human experts and offers scalability and automation, it currently requires tight supervision due to its limited training and flexibility in clinical settings.
