TLDR Adenosine boosts hair growth by increasing angiogenin levels.
The study demonstrated that adenosine promoted the growth of human hair follicles and the proliferation of dermal papilla cells, likely by up-regulating angiogenin expression. Hair follicles treated with 10-1,000 μmol/L adenosine showed significantly increased growth, with 100 μmol/L having the strongest effect. Similarly, adenosine enhanced the proliferative activity of dermal papilla cells, particularly at 10 and 100 μmol/L. The presence of anti-human angiogenin antibody partially antagonized these effects. Additionally, adenosine treatment resulted in lower proportions of cells in the G1 phase and higher proportions in the G2 and S phases, with increased mRNA and protein expressions of angiogenin.

Creatine may counteract minoxidil's hair growth effects by closing potassium ATP channels, potentially leading to hair loss in predisposed individuals. Despite anecdotal reports, there is no conclusive evidence linking creatine to hair loss.

A product that makes hair look thicker and healthier without promoting regrowth. Discussions include treatments like minoxidil, finasteride, red light therapy, and a serum with caffeine and peptides, with mixed effectiveness opinions.

Scalp biopsies are crucial for diagnosing hair loss conditions like Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) and retrograde hair loss, as treatments like finasteride and dutasteride may not be effective if other conditions are present. Combining PPAR-GAMMA agonists with retinoids could improve treatments for conditions like Lichen Planopilaris.
