TLDR Using ultrasound may make cisplatin more effective against cervical cancer in mice.
The study investigates the use of pulsed focused ultrasound (FUS) to enhance the effectiveness of the chemotherapy drug cisplatin in treating cervical cancer in mice. The research found that FUS can unbind cisplatin from albumin, potentially increasing its tumor-killing effects. However, further research is needed to measure the concentration of cisplatin within the tumor and systemically to better understand its selective delivery to the tumor site.
