Case Report: Psoriasiform Eczema with Immune-Mediated Comorbidities Treated with Upadacitinib

This case study observed that a patient with multiple refractory inflammatory conditions, including psoriasis, alopecia areata, and psoriatic arthritis, experienced significant improvements after three months of treatment with upadacitinib. The report suggests potential benefits of upadacitinib for similar conditions, recommending further clinical trials.

In this case report, a 57-year-old man with severe atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, and alopecia areata showed rapid and significant improvement after treatment with the JAK1 inhibitor upadacitinib, suggesting its potential as an effective monotherapy for these co-existing conditions when conventional therapies fail.

This case report highlights two instances of alopecia areata, demonstrating diverse presentations, and suggests upadacitinib as a promising treatment option, resulting in hair regrowth within 3–6 months, without worsening sarcoidosis-related skin lesions.
