The study investigated the therapeutic potential of compounds isolated from the halophyte Suaeda glauca for hair loss. Eight compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenolics, were identified and tested on human follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPCs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). The extract and isolated compounds, particularly kaempferol, significantly increased the expression of VEGF, IGF-1, and regulated Wnt/β-catenin signaling, showing activity comparable to or better than minoxidil. These findings suggest that S. glauca and its compounds could be promising candidates for preventing or treating hair loss.
