This 12-week pilot study investigated the effects of plasma and sonophoresis-assisted delivery of an exosome-containing topical formulation on androgenetic alopecia in 25 adults. The treatment led to significant improvements in hair density, increasing from 165.3 to 182.5 hairs/cm², and hair shaft diameter, which grew from 48.7 to 52.1 µm. The terminal-to-vellus hair ratio also improved, and scalp sebum levels and inflammation scores decreased. Photographic assessments showed hair growth improvement in 72% of participants, and 68% reported satisfaction with the treatment. Mild, transient erythema was the only reported adverse effect. The study suggests potential benefits of this treatment, but controlled trials are necessary to confirm its efficacy and the specific impact of the delivery methods.
