    This study utilized microarray technology to explore the effects of vitamin D and glucocorticoids on gene expression, revealing novel functions and pathways. In human fetal osteoblasts, vitamin D induced Cyr61, activating Notch and Hedgehog pathways involved in bone growth. In mice, glucocorticoid treatment increased insulin secretion and stress-related gene expression.
