The study investigated the labeling of skin stem cells in Inner Mongolia cashmere goats using BrdU to identify their presence in primary and secondary hair follicles and the epidermis. BrdU was injected intravenously, and skin samples were analyzed through immunohistochemistry. Positive rose-red stained nuclei were found in the hair follicles and epidermis, indicating the presence of proliferating cells, including stem cells. Over time, the positive signals decreased, with almost no distribution after 10 weeks. Flow cytometry showed that 73.98% of F2 G0/G1 phase cells were present, confirming the existence of stem cells in the hair follicles.
