30% Supramolecular Salicylic Acid in the Treatment of Mild to Moderate Acne Vulgaris on the Face: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
April 2020

TLDR 30% supramolecular salicylic acid is safe and effective for treating mild to moderate facial acne.
The systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the safety and effectiveness of adding 30% supramolecular salicylic acid to conventional treatments for patients with mild to moderate acne vulgaris on the face. Acne vulgaris, a chronic inflammatory skin disease, often affects adolescents and can lead to scars and emotional distress. The study found that supramolecular salicylic acid, a new skin resurfacing agent, improved skin function and appearance through chemical exfoliation. The review concluded that this treatment was both safe and effective for the specified condition.
