TLDR 2% minoxidil solution improved hair density and quality in children with Loose Anagen Hair Syndrome.
This case report documents the successful treatment of two boys (ages 8 and 10) with Loose Anagen Hair Syndrome (LAHS) using a 2% minoxidil solution. LAHS is characterized by poor anchoring of anagen hairs, leading to painless hair loss. After 2 months of twice-daily application of minoxidil, both patients showed significant improvement in hair density and quality without adverse effects. The findings suggest that topical minoxidil may be an effective first-line therapy for severe cases of LAHS in pediatric patients. Further research is needed to better understand the condition and enhance treatment options.
