TLDR KGF-1 135 is a stable and effective alternative for treating oral mucositis.
In this study, researchers produced and purified a 135-residue N-truncated variant of human keratinocyte growth factor 1 (KGF-1) in Escherichia coli, aiming to improve production yield and evaluate its biological activity. The variant was expressed as a fusion with thioredoxin and purified to high purity (>99%). Circular dichroism spectroscopy confirmed that the structure of KGF-1 135 was similar to the original KGF-1, and cell proliferation assays demonstrated its biological activity. The study concluded that KGF-1 135 could be a stable and effective alternative to the existing KGF-1 used for preventing and treating oral mucositis.

in Treatment  1 upvotes 6 years ago
Safflower oil is suggested as an alternative to minoxidil for hair growth, with benefits including scalp conditioning and hair strength enhancement. Studies indicate it may also reverse scalp dermatitis, alopecia, and prevent premature grayness.

community Opinions on this study for Triphasic Progressive by Rene Furterer

      in Research/Science  14 upvotes 2 years ago
The user shared their 5-year hair loss journey, initially using a product called Triphasic Progressive by Rene Furterer, which gave good results. Later, they switched to FDA-approved medications finasteride and minoxidil, which also helped, but they noticed the most significant progress with Triphasic. They're considering trying it again if minoxidil doesn't show improvements.

      community Painkillers May Block Minoxidil

      in Research/Science  16 upvotes 1 year ago
Painkillers like Aspirin may reduce Minoxidil's effectiveness by inhibiting the enzyme PGHS-1, which is crucial for hair growth. Using NSAIDs that inhibit COX-2 or combining Minoxidil with PGF2/E2 analogues or retinoids may enhance its efficacy.
