Kintor Pharma Announces Positive Top-line U.S. Phase I Trial Results of GT20029, the World’s First Topical Use PROTAC Compound

GT20029 is a new hair loss treatment in Phase 3 trials in China, using PROTAC technology to target androgen receptors, potentially with fewer side effects than finasteride and minoxidil. VDPHL01, a second-generation minoxidil, is also mentioned as potentially more effective.

SCUBE3 and GT20029 are potential treatments for hair loss, with SCUBE3 stimulating hair growth and GT20029 protecting against DHT. A combined approach using SCUBE3, finasteride or dutasteride, and later GT20029 could provide a comprehensive treatment for androgenetic alopecia.

The GT20029 tincture, a topical androgen receptor degrader, showed significant hair growth and good safety in a China Phase II trial for male androgenetic alopecia (AGA), with the 1% dose twice weekly identified as optimal. The company plans to initiate Phase III trials in China and Phase II in the U.S., and the treatment also shows promise for acne.
