long-wavelength ultraviolet light that penetrates deeply into the skin

Ultraviolet A (UVA) is a type of ultraviolet radiation with wavelengths ranging from 320 to 400 nanometers. It penetrates the skin more deeply than UVB, contributing to skin aging and long-term skin damage, and is also implicated in the development of some skin cancers. UVA is commonly encountered in sunlight and is also used in tanning beds.
