    Trichilemmal keratinization is a specific type of keratinization that occurs in the outer root sheath of hair follicles. It is characterized by the formation of a distinct layer of keratin that is more compact and less organized than that found in other types of keratinization, such as that in the epidermis. This process is relevant to hair biology as it plays a role in the structural integrity of hair follicles and can influence hair growth and health.
