Glossary Telogen Ratio

proportion of hair follicles in the resting phase

The Telogen Ratio refers to the proportion of hair follicles in the telogen phase, which is the resting phase of the hair growth cycle. In a healthy scalp, about 10-15% of hair follicles are typically in this phase. A higher telogen ratio can indicate hair loss conditions such as telogen effluvium, where a larger number of hairs are shed.
