    clinical inspection of the scalp to assess health and abnormalities

    A scalp examination, also known as a scalp check or scalp assessment, is a clinical procedure where a healthcare professional inspects the scalp to evaluate its health and identify any abnormalities. This can include checking for signs of hair loss, inflammation, infections, dandruff, or other dermatological conditions. The examination may involve visual inspection, palpation, and sometimes the use of a dermatoscope to get a closer look at the scalp and hair follicles.
