    Onycholysis is a condition where the nail separates from the nail bed, usually starting at the tip and progressing towards the cuticle. This detachment can be caused by trauma, infections, or underlying health issues such as thyroid disease or psoriasis. It often results in a white or yellowish appearance under the affected nail.
