abnormal thickening of scalp's subcutaneous fat layer

Lipedematous Scalp is a rare condition characterized by an abnormal thickening of the subcutaneous fat layer in the scalp. This can lead to a spongy or doughy feel of the scalp and may be associated with hair loss or thinning. The exact cause is unknown, but it is often seen in middle-aged women and can be diagnosed through clinical examination and imaging studies like MRI.
