HAIR-AN Syndrome, which stands for Hyperandrogenism-Insulin Resistance-Acanthosis Nigricans Syndrome, is a condition characterized by excessive levels of male hormones (hyperandrogenism), resistance to insulin, and dark, velvety skin patches (acanthosis nigricans). This syndrome is often associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and can lead to symptoms like irregular menstrual cycles, severe acne, and excessive hair growth.
