Physiological stress, also known as physical or biological stress, refers to the body's response to factors that disrupt its normal balance or homeostasis. This can include physical injuries, illnesses, extreme temperatures, or strenuous exercise. The body reacts by activating the stress response system, which involves the release of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline to help cope with the stressor.
