A Long-Pulsed Ruby Laser (LPRL) is a type of laser that emits light at a wavelength of 694 nm, which is in the red part of the spectrum. It is used primarily for hair removal and treating pigmented lesions because its wavelength is well absorbed by melanin, the pigment in hair and skin. The "long-pulsed" aspect refers to the duration of the laser pulses, which are longer than those in traditional ruby lasers, allowing for deeper penetration and more effective treatment with reduced risk of skin damage.
