involves transferring a somatic cell nucleus into an enucleated egg

Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) is a laboratory technique where the nucleus of a somatic cell (a non-reproductive cell) is transferred into an egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed.
