group of viruses causing warts and potentially cancer

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a group of more than 200 related viruses, some of which can cause warts on different parts of the body, including the genitals, while others are associated with various cancers, such as cervical, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers. HPV is primarily transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact, often during sexual activity, and certain high-risk strains can lead to serious health complications if not monitored or treated.
