January 2019 in “Journal of The Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers” LED light at specific wavelengths can help fight dandruff and promote hair growth without increasing inflammation.
November 2024 in “Journal of Investigative Dermatology” The study investigates the effects of red ginseng-derived components (RGCs) on senescent skin cells, specifically their potential as senolytics. Although RGCs did not exhibit significant senolytic effects, they were found to attenuate senescence markers (p16) and SASP factors (IL-6, IL-8), as well as the inflammatory factor IL-1b. This suggests an improvement in cellular aging and a reduced risk of inflammatory aging spreading to surrounding cells. Additionally, RGCs improved epidermal cell differentiation and collagen synthesis in fibroblasts. Thus, while not senolytic, RGCs demonstrate potent senomorphic properties, making them effective in preventing skin aging through mechanisms distinct from senolysis.
