condition where genetic sex differs from external genitalia

Pseudohermaphroditism, also known as false hermaphroditism, is a condition where an individual has the genetic and gonadal sex of one gender (either male or female) but has external genitalia that resemble the opposite sex. For example, a person with male pseudohermaphroditism has XY chromosomes and testes but may have external genitalia that appear female. This condition can result from various genetic, hormonal, or developmental factors.
