Photoaging, also known as sun-induced aging, refers to the premature aging of the skin caused by repeated exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or artificial sources like tanning beds. This process leads to changes such as wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity, pigmentation changes, and a rough texture, primarily due to the breakdown of collagen and the formation of abnormal elastin.
