    GlossaryDonor Harvesting

process of extracting hair follicles for transplantation

Donor Harvesting, also known as Hair Donor Harvesting or Hair Graft Harvesting, is the process of extracting hair follicles from a donor area, typically the back or sides of the scalp, for use in hair transplantation. This procedure involves either Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), where individual follicles are removed, or Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), where a strip of scalp is excised and then dissected into individual grafts. The harvested follicles are then implanted into areas experiencing hair loss to promote natural hair growth.
