Corticotropin-Releasing Hormone (CRH) is a peptide hormone involved in the stress response. It is produced by the hypothalamus and stimulates the pituitary gland to release adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which in turn prompts the adrenal glands to produce cortisol, a key stress hormone. CRH also plays a role in various bodily functions, including immune response and skin health, and has been linked to conditions like alopecia, where stress can exacerbate hair loss.
