    GlossaryPolymeric Micelles

tiny, self-assembling spheres that deliver drugs in the body

Polymeric micelles are tiny, spherical structures formed when certain types of polymers (large molecules made up of repeating units) self-assemble in water. They have a hydrophobic (water-repelling) core and a hydrophilic (water-attracting) shell, making them useful for delivering drugs or other substances in the body, as they can encapsulate hydrophobic drugs in their core and transport them through the bloodstream.
