TLDR Low vitamin D levels are common in people with Alopecia Areata.
The study assessed vitamin D levels in patients with Alopecia Areata (AA) by including male and female patients of various ages and severities, while excluding those on nutritional supplements, pregnant, using drugs, or with diseases affecting vitamin D levels. The study involved personal and illness history, clinical examination to exclude systemic diseases, and confirmation of AA presence. The severity of AA was determined using the Alopecia SALT score.
