TLDR Vitamin B can prevent hair from turning gray in rats.
Research by Drs. Agnes Fay Morgan, Bessie B. Cook, and Helen G. Davison from the University of California suggests that a component of vitamin B, found in rice bran filtrate, can prevent hair from graying in rats. Rats deprived of this "filtrate factor" turned gray, while those given adequate doses did not. This factor, also present in cornstarch, is thought to be related to the prevention of pellagra and must be supplied through diet as it cannot be synthesized in the body.
