TLDR A Persian cat and its owner fully recovered from Cheyletiellosis after treatment.
A male Persian cat with alopecia and mild pruritus on its dorsal tail was diagnosed with Cheyletiellosis after ruling out other parasitic and fungal infestations. The diagnosis was confirmed by the presence of Cheyletiella spp. eggs in skin scrapings and similar lesions on the owner, indicating zoonotic transmission. The cat was treated with Ivermectin and selenium sulphide shampoo, while the owner used calamine lotion. Both the cat and owner showed significant improvement within 10-15 days, with complete recovery and hair regrowth in the cat by 2 months post-therapy, and no recurrence observed up to 3 months post-therapy.
