TLDR The patient improved significantly after treatment, with only one small scar remaining.
A 25-year-old man with Touraine-Solente-Golé syndrome presented with tufted hair folliculitis, a variant of folliculitis decalvans, characterized by an inflammatory scalp condition with tufts of 10 to 20 hairs emerging from single follicular openings. The condition was associated with Staphylococcus aureus infection, confirmed through bacteriologic culture. Videodermoscopy and histologic examination supported the diagnosis, revealing specific patterns and cellular infiltrates. The patient was treated with a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, along with topical nadifloxacin, resulting in significant clinical improvement. After one month, only a single area of cicatricial alopecia remained, with no new lesions or symptoms.
