TLDR Stopping minoxidil treatment resumes balding; continuous use needed for results.
This study found that discontinuing topical minoxidil treatment for male pattern baldness resulted in a return to the natural balding process that was interrupted with the therapy. The study concluded that continued treatment with topical minoxidil is necessary to sustain a cosmetically acceptable response.
