TLDR Salicylic acid ointment effectively treated a toddler's skin condition.
A toddler case of keratosis follicularis squamosa (KFS) was successfully treated with salicylic acid ointment. The patient, a 3-year-old Japanese girl, exhibited brownish scaly patches on her abdomen and posterior thighs, which first appeared at 6 months old and increased over time. Despite the lack of a standard treatment for KFS, the application of salicylic acid ointment proved effective in this case, suggesting its potential as a treatment option for similar cases.
