Sustainable Applications of Phytochemicals and Nutritive Components Derived from Selected Underutilized Seeds: A Review

By analyzing 219 documents, the study identifies sustainable applications of these seeds in food, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries. The seeds contain valuable compounds like phenolics, flavonoids, and essential nutrients, offering benefits such as anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antibacterial properties. Their use as colorants, preservatives, and nutraceuticals, as well as antiparasitic and insecticidal agents, underscores their potential to reduce waste and contribute to sustainable practices.
