TLDR Combining surgery with growth factor injections effectively improves hair regrowth and scar management in Pseudopelade of Brocq.
A 29-year-old woman with Pseudopelade of Brocq (PPB), a form of scarring alopecia, underwent scalp reduction surgery followed by concentrated growth factor (CGF) injections to address postoperative complications like erythema and scar hyperplasia. After six CGF injections, significant improvement was observed, including relief from symptoms and increased hair density. CGF, rich in growth factors, promotes hair follicle stem cell proliferation and has antifibrotic properties, making it effective for hair regrowth and scar management. This case suggests that combining surgical treatment with CGF injections is an effective, economical, and safer alternative to hair transplantation for stable, localized PPB.
