TLDR Sulfur-35 can be used to track hair growth and past exposure.
The study investigated the uptake of sulfur-35 in human hair by analyzing autoradiographs from individuals treated with sulfur-35-sodium sulfate for chondrosarcoma. It was found that a chemical treatment effectively removed surface contamination, allowing for the identification of pulse-labeled spots. These spots served as an index of prior sulfur-35 exposure, and the data also enabled the estimation of hair growth rates.
